Serious Genius

Sunday, 30 October 2016

Sometimes, life just isn’t fair. Beethoven, an acknowledged master, lived life under the gaze of an adoring public. Schubert died penniless and unknown, a victim of the cruel whims of Vienna. The FASQ presents Beethoven’s self-assured and experimental String Quartet Op. 95, alongside the epic pathos of Schubert’s String Quintet, which proved to be his last desperate attempt to show his worth as a chamber music composer.
