Concerts

All of our events are held at Factory163 on a Sunday and start at 6 pm. For all of those who purchase their ticket before midnight on the Friday before their event, a light dinner is included in the price. Our events are catered by Stratford area restaurants, and a cash bar is also available so that our patrons can enjoy a drink before and during the show. The concert starts at 6:45.

Phillip Addis, baritone & Emily Hamper, piano

In Benjamin Britten’s centenary year, the internationally renowned baritone Phillip Addis and his partner Emily Hamper tackle the dark intensity of Britten’s Songs and Proverbs of William Blake. Also on the program are works by Mozart, Wolf, and Poulenc.

Factory Arts String Quartet with Jack Winn

Many great works of art are inspired by great music. Watch as painter Jack Winn brings to life a visual canvas of two musical masterpieces. The Factory Arts String Quartet provides Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 74, and Benjamin Britten’s String Quartet No. 3 as fuel for Jack’s fire.

Les Six honours the genius of French composer Françis Poulenc with his brilliant Sextet for Piano and Winds. We then look eastward to Ludwig Thuille and his greatly admired Sextet for the same forces, bringing the energy and melodic beauty of German Romanticism to the fore.

Factory Arts String Quartet

The need to compose comes from many directions. In 1789, a penniless Mozart, desperate to keep his head above water, composed his “Prussian” String Quartet No. 22 to stem the tide of adversity. At the crest of a tidal wave of creative energy, Schumann embarked on a highly productive 1842 with his String Quartet No. 1.
