Elizabeth Gowen has been a member of the Canadian Opera Company orchestra since 1978. During that time, she has played over 120 different operas, performed at the Edinburgh Festival and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, participated in the first ever Canadian Ring Cycle, and played for numerous recordings, TV shows and radio broadcasts. She is also a long-time member of the National Ballet of Canada and Stratford Festival orchestras.

 

Elizabeth has played bassoon and contrabassoon with the Toronto Symphony, Montreal Symphony, Esprit Orchestra, KW Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony, Orchestra London and Symphony Nova Scotia. She can be heard on various film scores, TV soundtracks, and commercials, and even played the bassoon for Casey and Finnegan on the Mr. Dressup show.
