Cathy Anderson

Cathy Anderson holds the position of Associate Principal Cellist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and has performed with Drayton Entertainment (Evita, Annie, Les Miserables) and occasionally the Stratford Festival. She has been heard as a soloist and chamber musician on CBC Radio and National Public Radio in the United States, and holds music degrees from Wilfrid Laurier and Yale Universities where she studied with Paul Pulford and members of the Penderecki String Quartet as well as Aldo Parisot and members of the Tokyo String Quartet. Before joining the KWS in 2007, Cathy played in the Thunder Bay Symphony and taught the cello studio at Lakehead University. Cathy maintains a small private studio in Kitchener-Waterloo, performs regularly in the Kitchener-Waterloo area both with the KWS and in collaboration with other local musicians, and she enjoys teaching the young musicians of the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra program.
