InnerChamber

Stratford resident Annette av Paul is a towering figure in Canadian dance, with a career spanning continents as a dancer, principal ballerina, artistic director, and educator. For this concert, Annette will co-create a new work called “Gestures” along with INNERchamber Composer-in-Residence Marek Norman. With av Paul also serving as a performer, the new piece will explore the “port de bras”, or arm movements that form the building blocks of ballet from the waist up - with a new score written for string quartet and percussion. Celebrating the opening of the 10th anniversary season of INNERchamber, the INNERchamber String Quartet gestures to its very first concert, revisiting Benjamin Britten’s Three Divertimenti, and Tchaikovsky’s 1st String Quartet.
